How do I create a package with postings on a guest account (Protel Air)?

This article describes how to create a package/summarize several postings on a guest account in Protel Air (HTML5 and Flash).

The ability to package several postings into one line on a guest account/guest folio is an extremely useful and popular feature of Protel Air - for example, the guest has had multiple items from the minibar over multiple days and would like this to show as one transaction on their account.

Protel Air HTML:

TO CREATE A PACKAGE:

  1. Hold down the "SHIFT" or "CTRL" key to select multiple items on the guest folio (the greyed items are the ones that have been selected);

  2. Once you have selected the items that need to be packaged, right click on the mouse and select
    Item Tasks > Create Package;

  3. A pop-up box will appear, asking you to name the package and provide a description (if required);

  4. Name the package, click "OK", and your items have now been packaged together;

TO REMOVE ITEMS FROM A PACKAGE:

  1. Select the packaged item, right click and select Item Tasks > Remove from Package;

  2. Items will again show as individual transactions;

Protel Air Flash:

TO CREATE A PACKAGE:

  1. Hold down the "SHIFT" or "CTRL" key to select multiple items on the guest folio (the highlighted items are the ones that have been selected);

  2. Once you have selected the items that need to be packaged, select Edit Items > Create Package;

  3. A pop-up box will appear, asking you to name the package and provide a description (if required);

  4. Name the package, click "OK", and your items have now been packaged together;

TO REMOVE ITEMS FROM A PACKAGE:

  1. Select the packaged item, select Edit Items > Remove from Package;

  2. Items will again show as individual transactions;

Note:
The "Shopping Bag" icon indicates that the posting is a packaged item;

This will open the details screen;
